Linking Lebanon to Iran-Syria axis at heart of dispute – Zahra
Debate continued between Hizbullah and the Lebanese Forces (LF) over a national defense strategy against Israeli threats, after a National Dialogue session tried to tackle the issue earlier in the week.
During a Hizbullah rally in Hermel, MP Hassan Fadlallah said a new strategy had been established in Lebanon and the region to face Israeli threats of war, based on equal retaliation as well as unity in stance among regional resistance forces. “The strategy is based on two foundations, equal retaliation to make the enemy aware that if he attacks our infrastructure, his will be targeted,” Fadlallah said.
Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said last month the party would target Israeli infrastructure in response to attacks against Lebanese facilities.
“The other basis was established by the tripartite summit in Damascus, expressing unity in stance among regional forces of resistance against any Israeli challenges, which makes it difficult for Israel to consider the war option,” Fadlallah added.
